Stage 1 — Request your research account

Setting up your course happens in two stages: first you request a course account, then you build and manage your roster once we've created it.

  1. First time user - Go to fom.engineering.txstate.edu and login with your TXST NetID
    1. Discipline: Select the option that most closely matches your field or intended use of the makerspace
    2. Supervisor: If your supervisor is not listed, select “Bobcat, Boko”
    3. No additional action is required in FOM
  2. Complete the Ingram Hall Makerspace Participation Agreement
    This is required for everyone who uses the space (faculty, staff, and students) and must be renewed each academic year (September 1 – August 31)
  3. Complete the Research Usage Request form
    A few notes:
    • You'll need to verify your email each time a form requires your signature
    • All parties must sign before we can begin internal processing

Stage 2 — This is on us

We'll notify you via email once your course account has been created in FOM. Processing time - 1 business day.

Stage 3 — Add your project members or send us the member info

  1. Log in to FOM with your SSO credentials. You'll be designated as a supervisor and see "Supervisor Home" in the left-hand menu. A "missing financial account warning" may appear. It clears once your form is processed.
  2. Find your project
    Please don't change the "Research description name." Members see it when reserving equipment.
    1. Add members one at a time from the drop-down. This only works once each member has logged in to FOM at least once.
    2. Or, just send us the fellow researcher info and any assistant info., and we'll add them to your research account
      Note: We won't be able to add students if they haven't logged into FOM

Members can be added or removed at any time. If your supervisor role isn't active within three business days after all parties complete the form, please contact us.
