The Ingram Hall Makerspace is where imagination meets industrial-grade reality. We provide TXST Bobcats with a hands-on environment and the latest manufacturing technology to prototype anything from simple concepts to complex engineering systems.
Time in the Texas State Makerspace designing, building, and testing ideas played a major role in my engineering education. It helped me develop design thinking, fabrication, and systems problem-solving skills while learning to safely operate machining and fabrication equipment, giving me the skills to walk confidently into industry.
Scale your ambitions
While TXST offers several creative hubs, Ingram Hall Makerspace (IHM) is built for the heavy hitters. Our 11,000 sq. ft. facility is uniquely equipped for larger, high-precision projects that require more than just a desktop Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) equipment, e.g., 3D printers.
We are divided into multiple specialized zones:
- PawPrint Studio 🐾
Your go-to for rapid prototyping, featuring FFF equipment, laser cutters, and electronics workbenches - Industrial Space
Professional-grade machinery for high-output manufacturing - Welding & Woodworking
Dedicated bays for structural fabrication and traditional craftsmanship
IHM is the heartbeat of engineering at TXST. Beyond our teaching labs, the space is continuously pushed to its limits by our most active student organizations, serving as the primary fabrication hub for Bobcat Racing, Bobcat Aerospace, and IEEE Robotics Automation Society.
