This project establishes a foundational digital twin system for the Ingram Hall Makerspace at Texas State University, where manual equipment currently lacks any real-time operational monitoring. Using an Arduino Opta PLC with acoustic and electrical sensors mounted on a drill press, the system tracks machine usage and automatically detects misuse such as overfeeding through a cross-sensor anomaly detection algorithm. Data is displayed on a live Shop Floor Viewer dashboard, and the low-cost, non-invasive design serves as a scalable framework for future expansion to additional makerspace machines.
