Program Overview

The Texas State University Summer Transportation Camp/National Summer Transportation Institute (STC/NSTI) Program aims at introducing a diverse group of motivated pre-college students to the transportation industry. During the two-week residential program, students will participate in academic and enhancement activities designed to improve their skills in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) and leadership.

     

The program strives to:

  • Increase students' awareness of different transportation modes
  • Heighten students’ understanding of the importance of different transportation problems and solutions
  • Expose students to a variety of transportation career opportunities
  • Improve students’ creativity, analytical, and problem solving skills
  • Develop students’ interpersonal, collaboration, and leadership skills
  • Provide college and curriculum guidance.
